We stayed at Boysen due to its location and our planned drive from Yellowstone back to Iowa. It is a decent place to camp if you are in need of a campground in the middle of Wyoming. Being from Iowa, it was very different from the green grass and large tree campgrounds we are used to, so the sandy camp area was a little different for us. We chose a campsite that backed up to the lake, which kept the kids busy all the time. If you are a boater, this would be a nice place to camp and boat together. Although we would not camp here as a destination in the future, if we were passing through and needed a campground, we would definitely come back.
PS, don't feed the birds, unless you want them to join you in your campsite. :)

Although there is no electricity, or plumbing. the campground is very clean and quiet. The boat dock is easy to access and there are no lines. There are reservable sites as well as on-demand. On "power weekends" the campground fills to capacity early.
