Description
The majestic peaks of the Absaroka Mountains dominate the scenery at Buffalo Bill State Park. Two campsites, North Fork and North Shore, have a limited number of reservable sites. Learn more about the area at the Visitor Center with the interpretive exhibits, touch-screen computers, audio/visual presentation and a staff to help visitors.
Directions:
Park Headquarters, nine miles west of Cody on US Highway 14-16-20.
Additional Info:

i was going to make reservations for a week here to use as a home base to explore cody and yellowstone.....i am a full time rv'er....and been in state parks all over the country....what i experenced here was rediculous....while reserving a spot isaw there was an extra fee for my tow car,if i unhooked it for use..,,ok i called to find out how much...same as the rv....154. a week....for each.....how crazy is that...so to stay here and use my car to go in and out, to go to these places around the area i would have to pay another 154. a week......308 total..in no other state have i experenced this stupid setup....normaly you pay for your camping and go in and out as you want to at no extra fees.....guess ill chalk of the wy state park system....

Accommodating
50 % of users found this review helpful
When we stayed at Buffalo Bill State Park, there was a storm blowing through. The wind was so strong we could barely even put up our tent. Not to worry, though. The campground officials allowed us to move to any open campground. There were some set down behind a small hill and they had wind-breaker walls. Behind these walls, we barely even noticed the wind. The park staff took care of the facilities and grounds in a timely and efficient manner. The best asset they have is their friendliness and willingness to accommodate campers.

Perfect for us

After leaving Yellowstone, we stumbled upon this site and were totally delighted. Hook ups were convenient, layout of park is easy to maneuver, and the landscape views from all angles are breathtaking.

The park is very nice and people are friendly, but the park was very difficult to find.
Just beside the lake and the falls. Very nice.
